Beržynėlis is a project that integrates the existing natural resources of the site into a new, sustainable educational architecture complex. The project aims to create positive, playful and functional spaces inside and outside the building, which will best meet the needs of a modern educational institution and the Kalnėnai community. The volumetric expression of the building aims at a gentle transition between the existing predominant development and the development planned for the adjacent plots. The volumes shall be arranged on the site in order to preserve as much as possible of the native trees and shrubs, thereby minimising the impact of the new architecture on the existing natural structure of the site. The aim of the Beržynėlis is to create a year-round community neighbourhood centre that meets the needs of the whole community, combining scientific, recreational, sporting and creative functions.
